Updated guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis

The Czech guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) have been updated recently. In particular, there has been a significant change in the recommendation for treatment of this condition.

Nintedanib or pirfenidone have been recommended to treat IPF. No functional criteria have been specified that would restrict the use of these drugs for a specific group of IPF patients.

The updated guidelines (in Czech language only) are available on the website of the Czech Pneumological and Phthisiological Society.
