3rd Congress of the Czech Pneumological and Phthisiological Society: 2–4 June 2016, Prague
The biggest nationwide congress of Czech specialists in pulmonary medicine has brought many presentations focused on idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). Data from the EMPIRE registry were of particular interest, documenting the effect of antifibrotic therapy not only on the decrease in pulmonary function over time, but also on the survival of IPF patients.
The conference section dedicated to interstitial pulmonary processes has seen a large number of participants: we can therefore hope that the awareness of IPF among Czech pulmonary specialists will be improved and that timely referral of IPF patients to specialised centres for IPF diagnosis and treatment can be expected.
